Help Charles "Cook Up Something" for Stepping Stone. HE DID IT!
The Diablo 50 mile run was this past Saturday. Even after doing Ironman Triathlons I never experienced a day like this one! It was 92 degrees out there. I managed to run almost 40 miles but could not run fast enough to make the cutoff time to complete the race in under 16 hours. It seemed like this race was all uphill and most of it was! I suffered dehydration and cramps. It was the most physically challenging event of my life.
This is known as the toughest ultramarathon in California and I can see why. I'm told that it is the equivalent of running a 100 mile race on level ground.
I was humbled by this experience and very grateful to be in one piece when I finished.
Right now I can't imagine ever doing another 50 mile race, but that could change. If it does, I would certainly try to raise funds for such a wonderful place as Stepping Stone.
Thanks for letting me use this event for the eventual purchase of a stove/oven. I hope we were able to make a dent in the amount needed for this purchase.
Gratefully yours,
Charles CHARLES HAS ALREADY RAISED $1,925 of his $5,000 goal!
